Scholarships

The Patriot Booster Club is proud to sponsor a scholarship program for the cadets of the Plano West Wolf Battalion (if we have funds for that particular school year).  A cadet must meet the below criteria to be considered for a scholarship.

• Be a LET 2 ‐ 4 senior at Plano West,
• Be a member of the Patriot Booster Organization,
• Be planning to attend a College, University, or Vocational School.

The number and amount of scholarship(s) is determined each year by the Board of Directors of the Plano Booster Organization. Depending on available booster club funds, the Board has approved up to $2,000 to be awarded to up to three cadets.

Scholarships are awarded based upon an essay written by the cadet. The topic for the essay is chosen each year by the Board of Directors to be relevant to the student. Interested seniors are given the topic and key instructions for writing the essay by the Senior Army Instructor. Two copies of the essay are to be submitted to the SAI, one with the cadet's name and one without any name. Submitted essays are read, judged, and ranked by an independent panel selected by the Patriot Booster Organization. Neither the Senior Army Instructor, the Army Instructor, nor any member of the Board of Directors is directly or indirectly involved in the judging of the essays. The panel is completely independent of the Patriot Booster Organization and the AJROTC instructors. The decision of the panel is final.
